Getting to Marrakesh

From airport to the Hivernage—travel should be as thoughtful as the destination.

Visas

As with all international journeys, a few formalities may apply. Many nationalities — including citizens of the United States, Canada, most European countries, Australia, and Japan — may enter Morocco visa-free for stays of up to 90 days. We recommend confirming the latest requirements with your local Moroccan consulate prior to travel.

International flights

Marrakech is served by Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), just 20 minutes from the city center. For those arriving from further afield, Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) offers excellent connections, including direct flights from the United States and the Middle East.

A new nonstop route from Atlanta to Marrakech launches in October 2025, effortlessly linking North America with the Red City. Additional convenient routes include Istanbul, Doha, Madrid, Paris, London, and Montreal.

Airport transfers

From Marrakech Menara Airport, the simplest and most seamless option is a private transfer — a driver will greet you on arrival, assist with luggage, and deliver you directly to the edge of the Medina in just 20 minutes. We strongly recommend arranging this in advance; it allows you to bypass the bustle of taxis and begin your weekend with ease. Once inside the Medina, cars give way to winding pedestrian lanes — your driver will drop you at the closest accessible point, and from there it’s only a short walk to our riads. We’ll provide a simple direction card to make those first steps effortless, so that even your arrival feels like part of the experience.
